Surprise, surprise. I forgot to type a blog for Week 20. And then I slacked on promptly posting about Week 21. Ugh, that 2nd child stereotype is already showing signs of being true. There is less time to do more things with less energy. Quite the conundrum, I say.
Week 20 saw me run my first 5K race in…forever…and set a pregnancy PR.
It also meant that we got our ultrasound done and got to see Baby Mason #2 for the first time. We aren’t finding out gender, so it’s always fun to look at the pictures and play “guess if that’s a baby boy or girl responsible for using my belly button as a punching bag”. All I know is that both Toddler J and Baby 2 have a similar side profile, although Baby 2 appears to have well developed soccer legs already. Probably why he or she is estimated to already weigh 14 oz…pushing 1 pound almost!
Week 21 was more of the same. Still sleeping ok, still running kind of ok (8:30/mile pace is my happy jam), and very little back pain so far. I feel like my thighs are chunkifying themselves more this go round, but I feel generally like all my weight gain is settling into my lower half. Gah. Probably why I feel like when I’m not at work, I’m living that legging life. I’ve drank from the Lularoe cup, and I like it.
Baby Mason is now the size of a carrot and has eyelids and eyebrows. What a funny looking carrot!
The carrot is also settling nicely into my side profile. 2nd pregnancies are a funny thing, I am as big now as I was with Toddler J at like 27 weeks. Funny thing, those lack of abdominal muscles and large quantities of relaxin.
Until next time…belly out!
