Can’t believe that we are nearly to the halfway mark of this pregnancy already. It’s quite true that the 2nd time around goes faster, you have less time to get ready, you have less time to document it (which explains why photographic evidence of subsequent children tends to decline, thus creating these middle child syndromes and such–thesis material people, thesis material).
This week, baby is the size of a bell pepper, weighing almost 7 ounces and measuring 5.5 inches long. I have several times thought I have felt little thumps and thuds from the bell pepper, but nothing too consistent.
I’m still waiting for the total magic of the 2nd trimester, where you prance around on rainbows and ride unicorns until the heft of the 3rd trimester smacks you in the stomach. Alas, that has yet to happen and I’m still dealing with fatigue and occasional instances of nausea. We are not planning to find out gender for Baby Dos, so it’ll be fun playing the guessing game again. We won’t get our ultrasound done for another 2 weeks, then we will really be able to put a face to the belly.
My official 18 week belly shot:
Whoops. My outfit makes a little more sense when I’m in the picture with the rest of my 100 Acre gang. Next year we’ll have to come up with a family of 4 theme. Belly out!
